
Culture Minister Ghassan Salama met with the Chinese Ambassador to Lebanon, Chen Quanding, in his office at the National Library in the Sanayeh area. The meeting discussed the latest developments and current developments, in addition to bilateral relations between the two countries in various fields, with a special focus on the cultural sector and how to develop it.
After the meeting, the Chinese ambassador stated that the need to enhance “cultural exchange between the two countries” was stressed, and pointed to the continued progress in completing the National Conservatory project in the Dbayeh region, which is funded by the “Chinese government,” and the importance of its opening as it represents “a cultural edifice that reflects Lebanon’s position as a major cultural center in the region.”
In response to an inquiry about China’s position on the current events in Lebanon, the ambassador stressed that “China supports all efforts aimed at achieving stability,” expressing his hope to find “just and lasting solutions to which everyone is committed.”
The ambassador added that he informed Minister Salama of the details of “the humanitarian aid provided by his country, which is on its way to Lebanon to support him in light of the current conditions.”
