Lebanon is facing weather fluctuations: a heat wave before the expected rain!

This spring, Lebanon is witnessing rapid weather fluctuations, as noticeable rises in temperature combine with dusty atmosphere, creating a state of atmospheric instability in various parts of the country. Between the warmth that prevails during the day and the dust spreading in the atmosphere, rapid changes are looming on the horizon that will change the nature of the weather during the coming days, with a gradual shift towards scattered rain and a noticeable drop in temperatures, which reflects the nature of the transitional phase characteristic of this time of year.

In this context, meteorologist Jimmy Heikal explained in an interview with: “Lebanon is witnessing a noticeable rise in temperatures today, Wednesday, exceeding seasonal averages, in parallel with dusty weather affecting various regions.”

Heikal pointed out that “the temperature will rise by about 4 additional degrees, leading to warm and dusty weather during the day.”

He added, “The heat wave will reach its peak on Thursday and Friday, when temperatures will reach about 32 degrees,” noting that “this wave is very hot compared to the usual rates for this time of year.”

Heikal continued, “Friday will witness a shift in the weather condition, with Lebanon being affected by a depression resulting from an extension of the Red Sea depression, which will lead to muddy rains that may be heavy at times, but they will be scattered and localized and will not include all regions equally.”

He pointed out that “rain will begin gradually starting Friday afternoon, coinciding with the peak of the heat, before temperatures drop significantly over the weekend.”

Heikal explained, “The weather will turn more moderate on Saturday and Sunday, with temperatures recorded below average, as they may not exceed 20 degrees during the day, and drop to lower levels at night, in parallel with continued chances of light and scattered rain.”

As for the temperatures on the coast, today, Wednesday, they will range between 25 and 15 degrees, rising on Thursday to 28 and 18, and reaching their peak on Friday at 32 and 21 degrees, before returning and gradually decreasing with the entry of a colder air mass.
