A phone call reveals dangerous details: the mysterious fate of a Lebanese expatriate in Syria

The family of the Lebanese expatriate Ahmed Najdi, who hails from the southern town of Srifa and resides in Germany, is following the developments of his mysterious disappearance in Syrian territory amid speculation that he has been kidnapped, in conjunction with intense diplomatic movements to clarify his fate.

In the details of the case, information indicated that Najdi, who works in the livestock trade sector, had gone to Syria on a regular visit to the city of Homs for the purpose of importing livestock, before contact with him was completely cut off and his car was found inside Syria without any trace of his whereabouts until the moment.

In contact with the “Lebanon Debate” website, the mayor of the town of Srifa, Khader Najdi, confirmed that Ahmed’s recent visit to Homs was not the first due to the nature of his commercial work. He explained that the family received news of the disappearance through Ahmed’s friends in Syria, where one of them informed the kidnapped brother that two masked people riding in a four-wheel drive car had kidnapped him.

Al-Mukhtar confirmed that Ahmed Najdi does not belong to any political organization and does not have any partisan affiliations, noting that the kidnappers have not made any financial demands or asked for ransom yet.

On the diplomatic level, Khader Najdi revealed that the family contacted the Lebanese ambassador to Syria, who responded responsively and promised to follow the case closely and work to uncover the circumstances of the incident. Regarding the expatriate’s holding of German citizenship in addition to his Lebanese citizenship, Al-Mukhtar pointed out that there is no confirmed information available about whether the family has officially contacted the German embassy in this context.

Ahmed Najdi’s fate is still unknown amid cautious anticipation from his family, who lives in the hope that the ongoing efforts and diplomatic movements will result in locating him and evacuating him safely as soon as possible.
