Today, Israeli forces set fire to three empty tents belonging to Syrian workers in the Al-Housh area, located between Burj Al-Muluk and the Marjayoun Plain, towards the tents, within the area known as the “yellow line” or “yellow zone.” The burning of the tents led to flames spreading to the olive trees surrounding the place.
The National News Agency reported that a team from the Civil Defense in the Qalaia Center went to the site to deal with the fire, but the process of intervening and extinguishing the fire required obtaining prior approval from the Mechanics Committee due to the sensitivity of the area and its geography. The fire brigades worked to contain the fire and limit its spread within the boundaries and paths allowed by the permission granted for movement.
In a related context, southern Lebanon witnessed a massive field escalation. The correspondent of the “Lebanon Debate” website reported that Israeli warplanes launched air strikes targeting the towns of Nabatiyeh Al-Fawqa and Wadi Al-Hujair, followed by other raids that targeted the vicinity of the towns of Baraashit and Kunine. At the same time, the surroundings of the towns of Baraashit and Beit Yahoun were subjected to Israeli artillery shelling, as a result of which a very huge explosion was heard in the town of Qantara.
This escalation comes at a time when strict restrictions are imposed on the movement of rescue and ambulance teams at points falling within the “yellow line,” which doubles the size of the challenges and hinders the speed of response to dealing with fires and field emergencies.
