The Electricité du Liban issued a dire warning to public administrations, institutions, and independent departments, including water departments, to pay their bills and accumulated financial dues, threatening to cut off their power as of Monday morning, November 2, 2026, with government hospitals excluded from this measure.
In a statement issued by its Board of Directors following its meeting this evening, the Corporation explained that this decision was taken after sending several previous warnings to no avail, stressing that the statement serves as an official notification letter to all concerned parties to settle their financial situations in order to avoid cutting off the supply.
This measure comes within the framework of the Corporation’s tireless efforts to collect its accumulated funds and enhance its financial and operational capabilities, at a time when the electricity sector continues to suffer from serious challenges related to financing, collection efficiency, and ensuring the continuity of energy production and distribution.
