Today, Wednesday, October 21, 2026, the voting process for Israeli army soldiers in the 26th Knesset elections began, and will continue until the polls close on Election Day according to operational needs. The operation covers various fronts from Mount Hermon in the north to Eilat in the south, passing through the forces deployed in Lebanon, Syria and the Gaza Strip.
According to a report by journalist Avi Ashkenazi in the Maariv newspaper, the operation is taking place in military bases and sites in all sectors, with the aim of enabling military personnel to exercise their right to vote while carrying out missions or fighting outside the borders.
In the same context, the elections officer in the Israeli army, Colonel Vered Ben Yehuda, confirmed that “our mission is to enable all servants in the army to exercise their democratic right to secret voting, even during operational activity and fighting outside the borders.” She added: “The Israeli army is the official army of the state, and it will do whatever is necessary to allow the elections to be held regularly.”
About 850 military ballot boxes are scheduled to be operated throughout the voting period, with mobile boxes representing about a quarter of them, to reach all soldiers in regular service and active reserve on various fronts and tasks.
With this step, the Israeli elections enter their executive phase within the military establishment, coinciding with the reality of the deployment of forces in the field from the northern border all the way to the Gaza Strip.
