Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri confirmed that “his health is good, but he expressed his concern about the general situation in the country, saying: “My health is good, but the country’s health is not good.”
Attention is turning to the government session in light of the explosives shipment file, which a number of ministers are expected to demand that it be referred to the Judicial Council. In this context, Berri stressed, in an interview with “Voice of All Lebanon,” participation in the cabinet session scheduled for tomorrow, stressing: “We will participate in the government session tomorrow.” When asked about the possibility of withdrawing when the issue was raised, he replied: “We will not withdraw.”
Berri pointed out that there is a law regulating the referral of files to the Judicial Council, stressing the need to deal with the case within its legal framework.
Regarding the role of the Lebanese Army and the tasks assigned to it in the south, Berri stressed that “the army is a red line,” stressing: “We are with the army,” in response to a question about the fear of a possible clash if a decision is made to carry out the tasks required of it in the south.
Regarding the relationship with Hezbollah, Berri pointed out that the relationship was closer during the days of the party’s former Secretary-General, Hassan Nasrallah, stressing the principle that there is neither an older brother nor a younger brother.
