Concerned authorities in the city of Tripoli were on alert this morning, following the discovery of an old mortar shell inside the Saraya campus, which necessitated taking immediate precautionary measures in the vicinity of the site.
In the details of the incident, workers from the Municipality of Tripoli found the shell while they were cleaning and removing weeds inside the Saraya campus. As a result, the competent authorities were informed, who quickly imposed a tight security cordon around the place to prevent anyone from approaching it.
A military expert from the Lebanese Army is scheduled to arrive at the site to inspect the missile, determine its nature and condition, in preparation for dealing with it and transporting it in accordance with approved security protocols, in a way that guarantees the safety of citizens and workers in the area.
