Moroccan star Ibrahim Diaz is facing increasing complications regarding his situation at Real Madrid, in light of the decline in his playing minutes under the leadership of Portuguese coach Jose Mourinho, and the pressure imposed by the recent brilliance of Brazilian striker Endrek.
In this context, the Spanish newspaper “Marca” reported that Diaz is suffering from fierce competition for his position in the team, especially after Andrik’s outstanding performance in the match that Real Madrid won against Roma with a score of 4-3 in the Champions League competitions. The Brazilian striker contributed to scoring the equalizer and created the threat that resulted in the fatal winning goal scored by defender Antonio Rudiger.
Despite the royal team trailing by two goals (3-1) and Mourinho resorting to most of his offensive cards to adjust the result, the Moroccan international remained confined to the bench throughout the match without having the opportunity to participate. The newspaper pointed out that placing Indrik in the right wing position – which is Diaz’s favorite position – portends more difficulties for the Moroccan player to reserve his place in the upcoming matches.
The numbers show a noticeable decline in the technical staff’s reliance on Diaz, as he played only 178 minutes spread over four out of ten matches that the team played in various tournaments this season, making him classified as one of the players with the least participation. On the other hand, Endrik used his short time very effectively, scoring two goals and making another assist in just 35 minutes that he played, which enhances his chances of obtaining a greater role within the offensive line.
In addition to the artistic competition, Diaz’s condition is affected by the repercussions of a previous leg injury that negatively affected his physical readiness, despite his tireless efforts to regain his usual level.
“Marca” concluded that Endrik’s continued upward growth, coinciding with the continuing scarcity of Diaz’s playing minutes, threatens to make the task of the Moroccan player’s return to the Royal team’s starting lineup very difficult during the next stage.
