Aoun raises the ceiling of positives by adhering to the people's right to knowledge

President Joseph Aoun called for refraining from exaggerating the negatives and focusing on the achievements achieved, considering that the Lebanese have the right to know what is being achieved within the ministries and official institutions. Aoun’s call came in a message that focused on highlighting what the presidency considers progress in the performance of a number of ministries.

At the beginning of the cabinet session, Aoun praised the efforts made by the ministers despite the difficulties facing the country, stressing the need to “focus on the positives instead of promoting the negatives,” and explaining that congratulating a number of ministers does not mean that others are not working, but rather that efforts are being made by everyone, even if some files stand out more than others.

Regarding agricultural affairs, the President of the Republic focused on the apple issue, noting the role of the Minister of Agriculture, Nizar Hani, in following up on the issue, and thanking the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the “CMA CGM” company, Rudolph Saadeh, for reducing the shipping cost for farmers.

As for the technology sector, Aoun referred to his visit to an exhibition dedicated to artificial intelligence, congratulating the Minister of State for Technology and Artificial Intelligence, Kamal Shehadeh, and calling on everyone to visit the exhibition, considering the generation participating in it “Lebanon of the future.” He called on the House of Representatives to expedite the adoption of the law establishing the “Ministry of Artificial Intelligence,” pointing out that Lebanon has become very late compared to other countries, despite the contribution of Lebanese people in developing this field outside the country. He pointed out that more than 27% of the Lebanese use artificial intelligence, rejecting proposals that claim that Lebanon is not qualified to keep pace with this development.

On the level of infrastructure and transportation, Aoun referred to the ports of Beirut and Tripoli officially joining the “India-Middle East-Europe Economic Corridor Ports Club” (IMEC), congratulating the Minister of Public Works and Transport, Fayez Rasamni, and considering that this achievement was not given its due media attention, but rather was exposed to skepticism. He also praised the development and organization witnessed by Rafic Hariri International Airport, and their role in facilitating the conditions of travelers.

In the health sector, President Aoun congratulated Minister of Health Rakan Nasser Al-Din on reorganizing the ministry’s structure, considering this step a model of administrative reform.

Aoun concluded by stressing that many citizens do not know the extent of the work being done within the ministries, stressing again that “the people have the right to know what progress is happening in the ministries and official institutions.”
