The Referees Committee of the Gulf Football Federation announced the appointment of an international refereeing crew to officiate the final match of the “27th Arabian Gulf” Championship, which brings together the Saudi and Emirati teams, on Tuesday evening, on the grounds of King Abdullah Sports City Stadium in Jeddah.
The task of managing the match was assigned to Moroccan referee Jalal Jaid, assisted by his compatriots Zakaria Prinsi and Mustafa Arkrad as assistants, while Kuwaiti Abdullah Jamali was chosen as the fourth referee, and his compatriot Saud Al-Shamali was chosen as the fifth referee.
Regarding the video assistant referee (VAR) technology, it was decided that the Moroccan Hamza Al-Farq would take over the management of the video room, with the assistance of the Dutchman Arwin Plank as first assistant, and the Bahraini Ismail Habib as second assistant, while the task of evaluating the referees was assigned to the Omani Ibrahim Al Hosani.
The two teams had reserved their seats in the final scene of the tournament. Following the success of the Saudi team in overcoming the obstacle of its Qatari counterpart on penalties (3-2) following a continuous goalless draw in regular and extra time, while the UAE team reached the final with its valuable victory over Oman with a goal without a response.
