Haaland's absence threatens Manchester City before the upcoming summit against Liverpool

Manchester City is exposed to a series of successive crises, after its prominent striker Erling Haaland suffered a muscle injury while participating with the Norway national team in its match against Portugal, on Sunday evening, in the fourth round of the European Nations League.

The Norwegian striker asked to be replaced and left the field limping, after just over an hour of play in the confrontation that ended with his team falling behind by two goals to one.

This injury doubles the burden of Manchester City’s technical staff, as the team prepares to resume the English Premier League competitions with an anticipated confrontation against Liverpool at Anfield on October 11, following the end of the international break.

In the same context, the English club will miss the services of player Phil Foden in the upcoming match against Liverpool after he was sent off in the Manchester United match, while Nico O’Reilly’s participation remains in great doubt after he left the England national team camp due to injury.

On the administrative and legal level, the club is facing additional pressure after it was officially convicted of 114 out of 115 charges brought against it by an independent committee, related to violating financial fair play regulations and violations of the rules of the English Premier League.
