The head of the “Arab Tawheed” Party, Wiam Wahhab, sent a sharp letter of criticism to the US ambassador to Lebanon, Michel Issa, in which he targeted the policy adopted by Washington regarding the sanctions and anti-corruption issues.
In a blog post he published on his account on the “X” platform, Wahhab said, addressing Ambassador Issa: “Unfortunately: your state imposes sanctions on us for political reasons, and neglects the masters of corruption in Lebanon.”
The head of the Arab Tawhid Party considered that any real reform path in the country must be based on “removing the militias from the ministries, and punishing the ministers who facilitate their looting,” pointing out in his direct message to Ambassador Issa that “these militias live off the state’s money and services and are ruining Lebanon.”
