The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants, Youssef Raji, met his Danish counterpart, Lars Lokke Rasmussen, on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly in New York. The two sides discussed developments in the general situation in Lebanon in light of the continuing Israeli attacks.
The meeting dealt with the issue of the period after the end of the mission of the United Nations Interim Forces in Lebanon (UNIFIL), in addition to ways to provide support to Lebanon and enhance stability in its south, in light of the current security and political developments.
In this context, the Danish Minister reiterated his country’s readiness to continue supporting Lebanon, while Minister Raji stressed the importance of supporting the Lebanese Army and enhancing its operational capabilities, allowing it to fully carry out its tasks and extend state authority over the entire Lebanese territory.
