The Cabinet session ended at approximately six-thirty in the evening, after the Council continued discussing the draft general budget law, article by article, in parallel with following up on the file of demands of military force retirees and civilians, while the file of Israeli attacks was attended at the beginning of the session.

Information Minister Paul Morcos announced, after the end of the session, that the Council of Ministers held a session dedicated to completing research into the draft general budget law, headed by Prime Minister Nawaf Salam, and in the presence of the ministers, with the absence of the Ministers of Energy and Culture.

He explained that Deputy Prime Minister Tariq Mitri presented at the beginning of the session the results of the discussions held with a delegation of retired military forces and civilians, pointing out that the meeting was held in an atmosphere of cooperation and led to agreement on a proposal to unify the vision regarding numbers and estimated costs.

He pointed out that this file is still being followed up with the Ministry of Finance, in preparation for returning it to the Council of Ministers.

Regarding the budget file, the Council completed the study of the draft law article by article, and made amendments to a number of them, with discussions to resume on Friday.

In parallel, Morcos announced that the Council of Ministers will hold a session tomorrow, Thursday at two o’clock in the afternoon, at the Presidential Palace, headed by the President of the Republic.

In response to a question about the Israeli attacks, the Minister of Information explained that the Council discussed at the beginning of the session the repeated attacks, and the measures taken by Lebanon at the diplomatic level were reviewed, in addition to the reviews it is conducting before international forums in this regard.
