Barcelona announced the transfer of its young defender Joffrey Torrents to Ajax Amsterdam, after the 19-year-old player signed a contract with the Dutch club extending until June 30, 2030. Transfer details
The left-back joined the Barcelona Academy in 2017, and rose through its ranks before participating with Barcelona Athletic, then joining the first team’s preparations.
Torrents made his first official appearance for Barcelona against Real Mallorca on August 16, 2025, and not in 2015 as reported in some reports, and he participated as a substitute during the 3-0 victory. Barcelona’s official website
Ajax technical director Jordi Cruyff said that Torrents has great talent and has developed remarkably, noting that the player chose the Dutch club’s project despite the interest of other clubs in including him.
