Apple has launched a new feature aimed at addressing annoying and repeated calls from unknown numbers.
Apple added in the “iOS 26” update a long -awaited feature known as the “Call Screening”, which aims to reduce the annoying calls of automated and unwanted robots.
This feature allows users to filter the calls coming from unknown numbers through a digital assistant who speaks to the caller first, and then display a written summary of what the caller said so that the user decides whether he wants to respond to the call or not.
How do you work?
When activating the feature, an automatic response is run when receiving a call from an unprotected number, where the caller is required to mention his name and the reason for the connection.
After that, this message is presented as a text on the phone screen, and the user can accept or reject the call based on what was stated in the text.
What distinguishes this addition is that it does not work with the known numbers or preserved in the contacts, and can be run or stopped at any time through the settings.
Ease of activation
The feature is available on all phones that support the “iOS 26” system, starting with “iPhone 11” devices launched in September 2019 and beyond, without the need for any additional technologies.
To manually activate the feature, users can go to “Settings” and then click on “Applications” and choose “phone”, then specify “examining unknown callers”.
Now there will be 3 options available, namely: non -activation, requesting the reason for the connection, mutating the sound, and converting the call to the voice mail directly.
Of course, choosing “Requesting the Condition of Communication” is what activates the advantage of examining calls. This feature is similar to the traditional voice mail, but it is more interactive and speed. When an unknown call is received, a silent notice appears that shows the text of the message, and the user is given a few seconds to make the decision. If the caller is not answered, the caller is allowed to leave an additional message.
