Adobe announced a new update to its image editing program, “Photoshop,” that focuses on artificial intelligence techniques, and includes a new interface that brings together smart tools in one place, in addition to improvements aimed at facilitating image editing and reducing manual steps.









AI tools in one place

Adobe is introducing a new interface called “AI Assisted Editor” in a beta and optional way, through which it brings together various artificial intelligence tools in one toolbar within Photoshop.

The interface provides access to a text-based image editor, a background removal tool, an artificial intelligence image expansion tool, in addition to other tools that help in making advanced adjustments easily.

Drawing modifications to the image
Adobe has added a “Markup” feature, which allows the user to draw directly on the image to specify the adjustments he wants the artificial intelligence to perform.

The user can select areas to recolor, draw arrows to indicate a specific position, or draw rough shapes to illustrate the elements he wants to add, instead of relying on text commands only.

This method provides a more intuitive and direct way to guide artificial intelligence tools, especially in modifications that are difficult to describe accurately in words.

Smarter adjustments using masks
Adobe also revealed an update to the “Instruct Edit with Masks” feature, which allows masks to be modified using commands written in natural language.

According to the company, the “Firefly Image 5” model is now able to understand the full context of the image, which reduces the need to manually specify each area that the user wishes to modify.

For example, the user can request to open a person’s closed eyes in a photo or add a hat to his head, so that the artificial intelligence will carry out the adjustment based on understanding the content and context of the photo.

Through these updates, Adobe aims to integrate artificial intelligence tools more into the Photoshop user experience, and to facilitate the implementation of complex modifications while reducing manual steps.
