Samsung has published a guide explaining the steps for setting up and using the Samsung Wallet service on Galaxy Watch watches to make contactless payments, in addition to using ID cards, membership cards, and boarding passes, before the upcoming Galaxy Unpacked event on July 22.

Samsung explained that the service allows users to make contactless payments directly from their wrist, in addition to accessing ID cards, memberships, boarding passes, and other services.

The company said that setting up the service requires pressing and holding the Back button on the watch, then starting the setup process, activating the screen lock when needed using a PIN, before completing the setup on the connected Galaxy phone and adding and activating a compatible payment card.

To make the payment process, Samsung explained that the user needs to press and hold the Back button, then choose the required payment card, and bring the watch closer to the contactless payment device to complete the process.

The company added that users can also add compatible ID cards, membership cards, boarding passes, public transportation cards, etc., after registering them in Samsung Wallet using a Galaxy phone.

The announcement came as part of Samsung’s preparations for the Galaxy Unpacked event, during which the company will unveil the latest Galaxy devices, with a live broadcast of the event via the Samsung website, the Samsung Newsroom, and its YouTube channel.
