US Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee attacked French Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barrot, against the backdrop of his call on Israel to stop its military operations against Hezbollah in Lebanon, considering that a ceasefire begins when the party stops firing.

Huckabee said in a post on the “X” platform: “The French Foreign Minister said that Israel must stop its strikes against Hezbollah. Does France get all its information from Hezbollah?”

He added: “Last night, Israel lost 4 of its soldiers. Israel responds when it is attacked, and Yehiel Leiter presents the facts. A ceasefire is achieved when Hezbollah stops shooting and killing.”

Huckabee re-published a post by the Israeli Ambassador to the United States, Yechiel Leiter, which included what he described as “a reminder of how Hezbollah has adhered to the ceasefire over the past two days.”

According to Laiter, June 17 witnessed a series of security incidents that included the explosion of an explosive device at 10:15, the launching of two explosive drones at 10:57, in addition to dozens of rocket and missile launches at successive intervals until the evening hours.

He added that June 18 witnessed the approach of 5 members of the front defensive line at 01:00, in addition to the launching of a number of explosive drones at different times, in addition to the explosion of an explosive device at 08:51.

Huckabee’s statements come in the wake of the French Foreign Minister’s call on Israel to stop its military actions in Lebanon, and his demand that the United States put pressure on Israel to stop the escalation, at a time when field confrontations and tensions continue on the southern front.
