The pace of Israeli targeting in the Nabatieh region escalated today, with Israeli drones carrying out a series of raids that affected more than one point, in an extension of the wave of escalation that the south witnessed during the past hours after successive Israeli warnings to evacuate a number of towns.
In details, the Army Command announced that an Israeli drone targeted a soldier while he was moving near the Najda Hospital in Nabatieh without being injured, before targeting him again on the Kafr Rumman-Nabatieh road, which led to his being seriously injured.
The Lebanon Debate correspondent reported that an Israeli drone targeted a motorcycle at the Kafr Rumman roundabout, in light of intense drones flying over the area.
An Israeli drone also launched a raid on the town of Deir Al-Zahrani, while another raid targeted the popular Talaat al-Najda area in the town of Kafr Rumman.
This escalation comes after a series of Israeli raids that targeted, earlier today, several towns and regions in the south, including Nabatiyeh Al-Fawqa and Rashkanayeh in the Tire district, Al-Qasiba and the outskirts of Sajd in the Jezzine district, in addition to the martyrdom of the mayor of the town of Al-Rayhan, Ali Badie Hussein, as a result of a drone raid on the Kfarhouna triangle.
The Lebanese army had also evacuated the crossing barracks in the town of Kafr Tibnit – Nabatieh district, coinciding with the expansion of the Israeli targeting area, while in the early morning hours the Israeli army carried out a bombing operation in the town of Al-Tiri in the Bint Jbeil district.
These developments coincided with successive Israeli warnings to residents of southern towns to evacuate their homes and head north of the Zahrani River. In its first phase, it included 20 towns, before later expanding to include additional towns, including Ghassaniya, Zararia, the Kawthariya Rice Farm, and Sir al-Gharbiya.
The acceleration and expansion of the raids reflects the fragility of the security situation in the south, amid fears of an expansion of the escalation in light of the continued Israeli warnings and the movement of drones over the targeted areas.
