The WhatsApp application has provided a new feature for iPhone users that enables them to operate two different accounts on the same device through the main application, without the need to use the WhatsApp Business application or rely on an additional phone.

The new feature allows users to add a second phone number and switch between the two accounts directly within the application, which makes it easier to separate personal and professional use without the need to download additional applications.

Run two accounts on WhatsApp
According to WhatsApp, the second account can be added by going to Settings, then clicking on the arrow next to the user name and choosing “Add Account,” before completing the steps for setting up the new number.

Each account will maintain its own history of conversations, notifications, settings and privacy options independently, and notification settings can be customized for each account separately to make it easier to distinguish between personal messages and work messages.

To benefit from the feature, the user needs a second phone number, whether via a traditional SIM or an eSIM supported on iPhone devices.

The new update represents the end of one of the most prominent restrictions that iPhone users have faced for years, as running two accounts required using the WhatsApp Business application alongside the main application or relying on another device.

This update also makes the version of WhatsApp on iOS closer to the Android version, which has received support for two accounts since 2023. WhatsApp has also begun gradually rolling out the feature to iPhone users around the world, with it appearing to users after updating the application to the latest version and the update reaching their accounts.
