Paris Saint-Germain won the Champions League title for the second time in its history and the second in a row, after defeating Arsenal on penalties in the final, which was held at the Puskas Arena in Budapest.

The match ended in a 1-1 draw, before the Parisian team decided the confrontation on penalties.

According to the British BBC, Luis Enrique joined the list of coaches who have won the Champions League three times, along with Bob Paisley, Pep Guardiola, Carlo Ancelotti and Zinedine Zidane.

Paris Saint-Germain also became the third team in history to win the local league and Champions League titles in two consecutive seasons, after Real Madrid in 1957 and 1958, and Ajax in 1972 and 1973.

Since the launch of the Champions League in its modern form in the 1992-1993 season, only Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain have succeeded in winning the title for two consecutive seasons.

Enrique has raised his tally to 8 titles with Paris Saint-Germain since last season, after leading the team to the treble in the 2024-2025 season.
