Iranian Federation President Mehdi Taj said in a video clip broadcast by Iranian media on Thursday that FIFA should ensure the issuance of a multiple-entry visa that allows players to enter the United States and return to Mexico during the World Cup finals.
The Iranian national team had initially planned to stay in Tucson, Arizona, during the World Cup, but later moved its training camp to Tijuana, Mexico, which will host the World Cup jointly with the United States and Canada.
Mehdi Taj had previously stated that this step aims to avoid any complications related to US visas, and to enable the team to travel directly to Mexico on Iranian Airlines flights. (Russia Today)
