Speaker of the House of Representatives, Nabih Berri, received, at the headquarters of the Second Presidency in Ain al-Tineh, the Chargé d’Affaires of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Lebanon, Tawfiq Al-Samadi, where the general situation in Lebanon and the region was presented, in light of the continuing Israeli escalation and the accelerating security developments in the southern arena.

The meeting, according to a statement issued by the Iranian embassy, ​​discussed the latest developments related to Israel’s continued attacks on Lebanon and its violation of the ceasefire agreement, in addition to discussing bilateral relations between Lebanon and Iran and ways to strengthen them in various fields.

The meeting comes at a time when southern Lebanon is witnessing a continuing field escalation, with the intensification of Israeli raids on a number of southern and Bekaa regions, amid warnings of the widening scope of the confrontation and its repercussions on internal and regional stability.
