The Beirut and Mount Lebanon Water Corporation announced that pumping from the Jeita station was temporarily halted, due to a malfunction in the underground electrical tension line supplying the station, which will lead to a two-day water outage to a number of towns in the Matn.
The Foundation explained, in a statement, that the affected areas include: Al-Atchaneh, Ain Alaq, Qornet Chehwan, Montana, Freika, Ain Aar, Al-Hbous, Quneitra, Mazraat Yachouh, Al-Rabwa, Al-Bayadah, Al-Yassar, Beit Al-Kakko, Dik Al-Mahdi, Al-Mtayleb, Beit Al-Shaar, Zekrit and Qornet Al-Hamra.
She pointed out that the outage will continue until maintenance work is completed and the electrical fault is repaired, calling on subscribers to be aware and take the necessary precautions during the downtime.
This outage comes in light of the recurring crises that the water sector in Lebanon is suffering from, as a result of technical malfunctions and problems with the electrical supply, which directly affects the lives of citizens, especially with the high demand for water during the spring and the approaching summer.
