Mostaqbal Soliman Club, participating in the Tunisian Professional League, announced its intention not to play the twenty-seventh week match against Club Africain, scheduled for next Wednesday, if the Professional Football League continues to refuse to hold it in Nabeul Governorate.

The match between Mostaqbal Soliman and Club Africain is of great importance for both teams, as the former seeks to avoid the specter of relegation, while the latter aspires to win the championship.

The Tunisian Professional Football League has set a date for the match on Wednesday, April 29, but has not yet announced the stadium that will host it, which has sparked widespread dissatisfaction and criticism from Mostaqbal Soliman, as well as from fans of clubs competing with Africain.

Soliman Club insists on holding the match in the stadium of the city of “Bir Bourqaba”, near the city of Soliman (northeast of the country), but the association rejected this on the grounds that it is not possible to install video assistant (VAR) devices in this stadium.

Today, Saturday, Suleiman’s future issued a statement confirming his readiness to defend his rights by all possible means, including not playing the match.

The statement added: “Mustaqbal Suleiman expresses his deep astonishment at the continued silence and the absence of any interaction with a legitimate and urgent demand related to programming the visit of a committee specialized in VAR technology to inspect the municipal stadium in Bir Bourqaba.”

The statement continued: “In preparation for the 27th round of the First Professional League Championship, which will bring our team together with Club Africain (on April 29, 2026), an official request has been sent to schedule an urgent visit to the competent authorities in order to conduct a comprehensive field inspection to determine the readiness of the stadium and correct any potential shortcomings within the appropriate time frame.”

The club confirmed that the association ignored all letters sent and refused to schedule the match in a stadium chosen by the club, as the host team.

The club explained: “The absence of any official interaction by the National Professional Football League and the Tunisian Football Federation raises serious questions and reinforces fears of a premeditated intention to impose a specific stadium in complete disregard for the team’s rights and legitimate interests, which we categorically reject.”

Mustaqbal Suleiman announced that he will fight with all his strength for his chances of survival, and will fully adhere to his right, stressing that he will not participate in the match unless justice is achieved, and that he will refrain from confronting the African if he does not obtain his legitimate right, as he put it.

Mostaqbal Suleiman accuses some officials in the association, whom he considers affiliated with Club Africain, of preventing him from hosting the latter on a field with artificial turf, as the African club seeks to move the match to another field with natural turf.

Club Africain leads the Tunisian Professional League, equally with Esperance, with 55 points, while Mostaq Slimane ranks 15th, penultimate, with 20 points.
