
Touch announced today, Wednesday, that as a continuation of the emergency plan that was activated in coordination with the Ministry of Communications, it has intensified field and technical work in cooperation with its main partners.
This phase aims to enhance the stability of the network’s performance in most of the Lebanese territories, through exceptional measures specifically designed to adapt to the current geographical conditions. This effort focuses on increasing network efficiency in safe areas to accommodate increased usage pressure, while ensuring continued service and site maintenance in areas most at risk.
These measures come in light of a significant increase in the average daily use of data, which reached about 700 terabytes, an increase estimated at about 25% compared to the period before the outbreak of war.
In this context, the current operations managed by Touch’s technical teams in cooperation with its approved partners are focused on two complementary axes:
The first axis: related to enhancing network performance and fourth generation service. Touch’s approach is based on adopting a sustainable plan to address communications and data congestion on the network in safe displacement areas. These efforts include upgrading the third and fourth carriers to increase the network capacity immediately, and the company has completed more than a thousand operations in this context. The company is also working to install a long-term strategy aimed at building a congestion-free transmission network, to transform existing temporary solutions into a sustainable infrastructure capable of accommodating any future growth in data traffic.
The second axis: includes all field operational and logistical operations to maintain the readiness of sites and stations in various regions, whether safe or at risk. In this case, any operation will be carried out in full coordination with and with the approval of the Lebanese Army.
