Senegalese star Edouard Mendy, goalkeeper of Al-Ahly Saudi Club, set a new personal achievement in the Rushen Professional League, after his team defeated Damac with a clean goal, in the postponed match of the tenth round, which was held last Monday evening.

“A record for the Senegalese goalkeeper”:

“Mendy” was distinguished during the match by making pivotal saves that kept Al-Ahly’s net clean, which strengthened his position as one of the best goalkeepers in the tournament this season. According to the Daily Sports Network, “Mendy” played his 100th match with “Al-Raqi”, and succeeded in achieving a clean sheet in 45 matches, while conceding 97 goals in those matches, continuing to confirm his value and brilliance since his arrival to the Saudi League in 2023.

Mendy is 33 years old and is considered a pivotal player under the command of German coach Matthias Jaisse. He is also the goalkeeper who achieved the largest number of clean sheets this season in the Saudi Professional League, where he kept a clean sheet in 10 matches.

After winning the AFC Champions League with Al-Ahly and extending his contract until 2028, it seems that Mendy’s future with the Saudi club is still bright and full of achievements.

Al-Ahly currently leads the Saudi Professional League standings with 56 points, one point ahead of second-placed Al-Nasr, which will play a match against Al-Hazm.
