Repercussions of the dispute Emirates Airlines liquidation... profits decline by 68%

The Emirates Airlines Group announced a 66% decline in its profits during the first half of its 2026-2027 fiscal year, affected by the repercussions of the war in the Gulf region, high aviation fuel costs, as well as the disruptions witnessed in regional air traffic.

The group explained that its profits before taxes amounted to 4.1 billion dirhams (about 1.1 billion dollars), while net profits fell to 3.6 billion dirhams. Revenues recorded a decrease of 12%, reaching 66.2 billion dirhams, compared to 75.4 billion dirhams during the same period last year.

At the level of subsidiaries, the pre-tax profits of Emirates Airlines declined by 68%, recording 3.7 billion dirhams, and its revenues decreased by 13% to 56.9 billion dirhams, as a result of the rise in fuel prices and the impact of operations on the war. Dnata, which specializes in airport and travel services, also recorded a decrease in its profits by 51% to 410 million dirhams, coinciding with a decline in its revenues by 7%.

In the same context, the Chairman of the Emirates Group, Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, described the past six months as full of challenges, noting that the continued demand for travel and the strength of shipping operations contributed to supporting revenues despite regional pressures.

Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed confirmed that the group continues to invest in expanding its fleet and developing its services, while maintaining its full readiness to face market fluctuations and the continued rise in fuel costs.
