A Lebanese diplomat welcomed Trump's decisions in preparation for the resumption of direct flights

The Lebanese Embassy in the United States welcomed the decision issued by US President Donald Trump to lift restrictions imposed on air travel related to Lebanon, describing it as an essential stop on the way to resuming direct flights between the two countries.

The embassy explained that the new presidential decision ends previous presidential restrictions and decisions that hindered air transport, noting that this step opens the door to restoring direct air connectivity after years of cessation.

This development comes based on an official document published in the US Federal Register, showing that on September 30, 2026, President Trump signed a decision to cancel previous decisions related to Lebanon, while directing the US Secretary of Transportation to immediately implement and cancel any rules or regulations that conflict with the new directive.
