The Minister of Interior and Municipalities, Ahmed Al-Hajjar, discussed with the Director General of Public Security, Major General Hassan Shuqair, the general security situation in the country, in addition to the progress of work within the directorate to ensure enhancing stability and facilitating the transactions of citizens and residents.
The meeting, which was held this evening, discussed the launch of the electronic fingerprint service for the Lebanese passport in the cities of Detroit and Washington in the United States of America. Minister Hajjar praised the efforts made by the General Directorate of Public Security in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants to implement this service and facilitate access to it for Lebanese in the diaspora.
In a separate context, Al-Hajjar received the acting head of the Vehicle and Vehicles Registration Authority, Brigadier General Nazih Qobrosli, where the reality of work in the authority was reviewed and ways to improve the level of services provided to the public were discussed.
These meetings fall within the framework of the continuous follow-up led by the Ministry of Interior to determine the performance of the security services and their administrative departments, and to ensure the development of public services and effectively meeting the needs of citizens and residents.
