Tehran defends its “mutual and gradual” proposal and rejects American pressure
A source close to the Iranian negotiating team revealed the details of the latest proposal submitted by Tehran to Washington, stressing that it is based on “mutual and gradual” steps, following US President Donald Trump’s announcement of his categorical rejection of the Iranian proposal aimed at reaching an agreement.
The source explained, in statements to Fars Agency on Sunday, that the Iranian side conveyed its positions and concerns very clearly to the other party, indicating that the Iranian initiative includes a package of mutual and gradual measures to settle the file.
In the same context, the source indicated that American policy is significantly affected by Israel’s approach and interests, pointing at the same time to monitoring an increase in the intensity of dissatisfaction within the United States regarding the repercussions of the war and the financial and political costs resulting from it, which places the American administration facing “serious challenges” in its internal situation.
The source concluded by stressing that Tehran is continuing with determination to confront what he described as “exaggerated demands” and joint American and Israeli pressure, stressing that his country “will not abandon its rights and national interests under the weight of pressure and threat.”
