Britain seeks to support trade relations with India

British Prime Minister Kiir Starmer begins a two -day visit to India today, Wednesday, accompanied by more than a hundred entrepreneurs and culture pioneers in an attempt to support the commercial agreement signed recently.

Britain and India signed a free trade agreement last July during a visit to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, as they concluded an agreement to reduce customs duties on various commodities, such as textiles and cars, and increasing companies’ ability to reach the markets.

The talks on the commercial agreement concluded last May after intermittent negotiations over three years, as the two countries were quick to conclude the agreement in light of the customs turmoil behind US President Donald Trump, according to Reuters.
