Brighton sweeps Arsenal 3-0 in the English Premier League

The Brighton team achieved a resounding victory over its guest Arsenal, 3-0, in the match that brought them together, today, Saturday, in the fifth round of the English Premier League.

Brighton continued its strong performances and its dominance over the major clubs in England, one week after it eliminated Manchester United from the English League Cup after beating them 3-2 at Old Trafford, inflicting Arsenal (the defending champion) with its first loss this season in various local and continental competitions.

Brighton imposed its control from the first half, and emerged ahead with two goals scored by Pascal Gross and Charalambos Kostoulas in the 31st and 45th minutes, respectively, before Shima Andres confirmed the hosts’ superiority by scoring the third goal in the 57th minute of the second half.

With this result, Brighton continued its awakening, achieving its second victory in a row, advancing to third place after raising its score to 10 points.

On the other hand, Arsenal suffered its first defeat this season, leaving its score frozen at 12 points, falling to second place on goal difference behind leaders Manchester City, which in turn hosts Sunderland, tomorrow, Sunday.
