Palmeiras U-20 player, Felipe Teresa, and his ex-wife, Marcel Barbosa, reached an agreement to address the issue between them in a consensual manner and away from the media, after the accusations that led to the player being removed from the team.








According to the “UOL” website, lawyers for both parties entered into direct talks, stressing that the primary goal at this stage is to protect their son Davi, who is one year and 8 months old, and spare him the repercussions of the public dispute between his parents.

A statement issued on Monday said that the two parties decided to deal with the issues related to the case in private, noting that the recent developments occurred in the context of “great emotional pressure,” which prompted public statements and publications written “in a moment of emotion.”

But the statement did not resolve the issue of the alleged assault that Marcille spoke about. Representatives of both parties confirmed that any facts or potential responsibilities will be discussed and proven before the competent authorities, if necessary, while guaranteeing the right of defense and response.

Teresa also confirmed that he is providing all necessary support to his son, while both parties stressed that the priority now is to protect the child’s privacy, image, safety and well-being, and therefore additional details about the case will not be published at the present time.

Marcel Barbosa revealed the accusation publicly, on Sunday, through a video she posted on social media, in which she said that she was assaulted by the player during a quarrel that occurred during a trip between Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro on August 15, and their child was with them.

According to her account, Teresa kicked her and then punched her in the nose, noting that the dispute began due to a discussion about their plans to attend a party, before things developed after she got rid of clothes that the player intended to wear on the occasion.

Marcel also said that she went to a police station after the incident, while Palmeiras decided to deport the player after the accusations spread.

So far, the case remains in the context of unresolved accusations, awaiting whether it will be completed before the competent authorities, or will remain within a special track through which the two parties attempt to contain the dispute and protect the child.
