The stations are distributed between Beirut and 23 districts: Marjayoun, Zahle, Matn, Koura, Bsharri, Chouf, Jbeil, Bint Jbeil, Tripoli, Keserwan, Tyre, Akkar, Baabda, Zgharta, Rashaya, Nabatieh, Batroun, Hermel, Baalbek, Sidon, Minieh-Dinniyeh, Aley and Jezzine.
The Chairman of the Board of Directors of Alfa and its General Manager, Rafiq Al-Haddad, confirmed that the network development project extends over 4 years, and has so far included, in addition to enhancing coverage, the modernization of 3 major strategic programs for managing subscriber services, which reflects positively on the performance of services, provides more features and options, and improves the user experience.

Al-Haddad indicated that the network development and expansion projects will be completed before the end of the second quarter of 2027, benefiting more than 600,000 subscribers in various Lebanese regions.

He revealed that 20 additional stations will be put into service by the end of this year, most notably in Akkar, Baalbek, Matn, Tripoli, Minieh, Beirut, Chouf, Jbeil, Jezzine, Koura, and Sidon. These stations will allow the transfer of an additional 14 terabytes of data traffic daily.

Al-Haddad said: “Thanks to increased investment in infrastructure and close cooperation between Alpha and the Ministry of Communications, we were able to achieve tangible and exceptional results, and we will continue to invest in developing our network to be fully prepared for any future expansion in the deployment of fifth generation technologies and artificial intelligence.”

Alpha relies mainly on the equipment of global suppliers Ericsson and Nokia, while the capabilities of the new stations have been enhanced according to the needs of each region and the volume of expected data traffic, with optimal use of equipment, licenses and resources.

In parallel, the company put 10 mobile stations (COWs) into service, including 7 in the south, to contribute to restoring coverage in the affected areas. These stations contributed to raising the level of coverage of the “Alpha” network in the south from 70 percent during the war to about 90 percent now.

The network development plan also includes enhancing the capabilities of the 4G network in more than 900 sectors, by using a larger number of frequency bands, reaching 4 bands (4CC) and 5 bands (5CC), in addition to raising the capacities in more than 30 microwave links, allowing the network to provide higher capabilities and speeds.
