In this context, sources active in the generators sector told…“Lebanon 24” The price approved by the Ministry for a diesel fuel tank largely reflects the price at which generator owners currently obtain the material from the market and stations, especially after the decline in sales on the black market.
The sources explained that, during the past weeks, generator owners were resorting to the black market to secure their need for diesel, in light of the circumstances surrounding the availability of the material, but addressing this issue and the better return of diesel to the markets contributed to the decline in black market activity.
According to the sources, this development has led to relative stability in the mechanism for securing diesel for generator owners at the present time, making the price on which the Ministry of Energy relied in calculating the August pricing close to the actual cost that generator owners pay to obtain the material.
