The first hours of the depression that struck Lebanon did not pass without damage, as heavy rains caused the collapse of a support wall in the Al-Ain neighborhood in the town of Benin Al-Akkariya, according to what the “Lebanon Debate” correspondent reported.
The collapse of the wall led to water entering a house, and at least 4 cars were damaged.
Yesterday, Saturday, heavy rains and rainstorms hit large areas of the north, causing torrential rains on a number of main and secondary roads.
In the Wadi Al-Nahla-Beddawi area in Tripoli, floods swept away a child before a number of residents were able to reach him and drag him to a safe place amid the strong flow of water.
The floods in Akkar also led to the accumulation of large quantities of water and obstructed traffic, especially on the roads of the towns of Menjez and Shudra, where large parts of the main road were submerged.
These conditions require the utmost caution near watercourses and on roads that witness water accumulations, with the need for drivers to slow down to avoid slips and accidents in light of the continuing rainy weather.
