With a value of $18.5 million... Development and Reconstruction will sign an agricultural grants agreement with UNDP

The Council for Development and Reconstruction announced the signing of an agreement to implement agricultural grants with the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), tomorrow at the Council’s headquarters, in the presence of the Minister of Agriculture, Nizar Hani, and representatives of the World Bank and the United Nations Programme.

The agreement falls within the “Green Agri-Food Transformation” (GATE) project funded by the World Bank, and the value of the grants amounts to $18.5 million, including grants to cooperatives and farmers’ associations amounting to $35,000, and individual grants between $500 and $5,000, to support irrigation, renewable energy, agricultural machinery, food safety, marketing, and the rehabilitation of damaged facilities.
