
The Minister of Displacement and Minister of State for Technology and Artificial Intelligence, Dr. Kamal Shehadeh, met with a delegation from the European Parliament that included ten deputies.
The meeting dealt with the general political situation in Lebanon, the challenges facing the state in light of the economic conditions and the transitional stage that institutions are going through. The importance of the role of technology in supporting stability and development was also discussed, and the need to build a modern and effective administration capable of meeting the aspirations of citizens. Shehadeh offered the European delegation the most prominent projects that the Ministry of State for Technology and Artificial Intelligence Affairs is working on, especially those related to digital transformation and building the digital republic, Pointing to “the importance of these initiatives in modernizing the public administration, improving services, and creating new opportunities for Lebanese youth within its homeland.” The possibility of cooperation between Lebanon and the European Union has also been discussed in the fields of technology and innovation, especially with regard to exchanging experiences, supporting digital infrastructure, and enhancing the use of artificial intelligence in public and private sectors.
