Barak: Iran is the main problem and the disarmament of Hizbullah is a matter of time

“The Trump administration wants seriously and really to solve the problem of Lebanon,” said American delegate Tom Barak from Baabda.

Barak said: “We will bring the Gulf states to contribute to the economic zone, and there will be investments that the people of the South and Lebanon benefit from.”
He stressed that “the army did a good job in southern Litani and we will take out Iranian fears and Syrian concerns.”
He continued, “Iran is a real problem in the way of disarming Hizbullah.”
“I feel hope that the Lebanese government has done something remarkable and we are waiting for the government and army plan on August 31,” Barak added.
He said that “the plan to disarm Hizbah will not necessarily be military, but by persuading the party to abandon its weapon.”
He added that “the Lebanese government has set a number of points and pledged to abide by them.”
He stated that “we pay a billion dollars annually to UNIFIL and Lebanon is still in trouble with Hezbollah and Israel.”
“We will work to improve the lives of the Lebanese, whether or not Iran wanted,” he said.
He stressed that “we will agree to the extension of UNIFIL for a year.”
