Member of the Loyalty to the Resistance Bloc, MP Ibrahim al-Musawi, confirmed Hezbollah’s adherence to the resistance option, considering that pressures and challenges will not change this approach, and that true sovereignty is achieved by defending Lebanon and sacrificing for it.

Al-Moussawi’s words came during a memorial celebration held by Hezbollah for the martyr Abdul Hussein Muhammad Abdullah in the Husseiniyah of the town of Sarin in the Bekaa, in the presence of religious, party, municipal and social events.

He said that the martyrs are “alive before their Lord,” and they are a source of pride and dignity, calling for inspiration from their values of patience, steadfastness, and loyalty, stressing that defending Lebanon represents the highest level of righteousness and loyalty, and praising the sacrifices of the martyrs and their families.

He added that the culture of resistance is derived from the approach of Imam Hussein and Karbala, which established the values of sacrifice, loyalty and steadfastness, stressing that the environment of resistance will remain stable despite all pressures.

Al-Moussawi pointed out that the blood provided by the martyrs raised the nation’s status and gave it pride and dignity, stressing adherence to the leadership and choice of the resistance.

On the political issue, he touched on the memorandum of understanding that he said was signed in Islamabad between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the United States of America, considering that Lebanon constitutes the “first item” in it, and that there are those who seek to confuse it because, as he put it, it is in the interest of the Lebanese.

He added, “Some are trying to confuse it because they are tools and slaves of the Americans,” adding: “We are masters of the Guardian Jurist.”

Al-Moussawi stressed that Lebanon will remain dear thanks to the sacrifices of the martyrs and the resistance, considering that external pressures will not change this approach, before concluding his speech with a call for patience and steadfastness, stressing that the “promised divine victory” will be achieved.

Al-Moussawi’s position comes in light of the continuing internal debate about the future of Hezbollah’s weapons and its role, in parallel with the security and political developments taking place in Lebanon and the region, at a time when calls continue to limit weapons to the state, in exchange for Hezbollah’s adherence to the option of resistance as it is, according to its literature, an essential element in defending Lebanon and deterring Israel.
