Video scenes from the beach of the city of Nahariya, northern Israel, showed moments of panic among those relaxing, after missiles fired by Hezbollah fell into the sea near the beach, prompting those present to quickly flee in search of protected places.
According to what journalists Or Ravid and Sharon Knoblich reported, the video documentation shows those relaxing in the water as they quickly emerged from the water and tried to reach shelters or safe areas during the short warning period available, while the missiles appeared to fall into the sea off the coast.
This bombing comes hours after the Israeli army warned of the possibility of the northern region being exposed to fire from Lebanon, in light of the escalation of tension on the northern front. Despite prior warnings, the Israeli Home Front Command did not make any amendments to its instructions to the residents.
The scenes reflect the extent of tension prevailing in the northern regions, as sirens and missile shelling are now haunting beaches and recreational areas, in an additional indication of the widening circle of security concern in the Western Galilee.
