Vertu, a company specialized in manufacturing luxury phones, launched its latest foldable phone, “Vertu Alphafold,” which is considered one of the most luxurious smartphones launched in recent years.

The device combines foldable smartphone design, premium leather, gold accents, AI-powered business tools, and a very hefty price tag, making it clearly aimed at affluent buyers who value exclusivity as much as specs.

The price of the phone alone is enough to attract attention; The price of the regular version made of calf leather starts at $6,880, while the cost of the crocodile leather version rises to $8,800, according to a report by the “Digital Trends” website, which specializes in technology news, viewed by “Arabiya Business.”

As for those who want a higher level of luxury, Vertu offers customized versions with gold and diamond details, the price of which can reach $46,800.

At this level, the Alphafold phone becomes several times more expensive than leading foldable phones from companies such as Samsung, Oppo or Huawei.

The phone includes a smart assistant called “Hermes Agent,” which Vertu says helps manage appointments, workflow approvals, travel planning, and institutional tasks using natural commands.

According to the company, the Assistant can also be integrated with services such as Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Maps, WhatsApp, Telegram, Facebook and Amazon.

Vertu also focuses on privacy and security, claiming that sensitive data processing can be done locally on the device using a dedicated A5 security chip, while high-risk procedures such as financial approvals require manual confirmation from the user.

The Alphafold phone comes with an internal foldable OLED screen measuring 8.05 inches, along with an external screen measuring 6.53 inches, both of which support a 120 Hz refresh rate.

The phone runs on the Snapdragon 8 Elite processor from Qualcomm, with a large 6,500 mAh battery with silicon-carbon technology, which supports fast wired and wireless charging.

The camera system consists of a 50-megapixel main camera, a 50-megapixel wide-angle camera, and a 5-megapixel telephoto camera. (Arabic)
