
The new feature allows users to create presentation slides, in addition to modifying and updating existing presentations based on commands written in natural language.
The company said that “ChatGPT” can also pull information from connected services such as Gmail, Outlook, and SharePoint, and then use it automatically to build presentations or update their content, which reduces a large portion of the manual work associated with preparing slides.
The feature is currently available in a trial version, but “OpenAI” has begun making it available to most “ChatGPT” users, including those with free accounts, in addition to subscribers to the “ChatGPT” Business service, which is directed to companies. This move comes months after Anthropic introduced a similar feature within its “Claude” robot, while Google continues to integrate the Gemini model into its Slides presentation software. This reflects the escalation of competition between artificial intelligence companies to provide integrated productivity tools within work and study environments.
OpenAI has previously integrated ChatGPT into other business applications, including Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets, but PowerPoint support is one of the most anticipated additions to its suite of productivity tools.
