Xiaomi officially unveiled its new flagship phone, “Xiaomi 17 Max”, which is its latest phone in the “Xiaomi 17” series, with a clear focus on the huge battery and high performance, as the device comes with an 8000 mAh battery and the latest Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor from Qualcomm.
The phone has a design similar to the “Xiaomi 15” phone more than the new generation. The company inspired the design of the cameras from the previous model, with a flat screen, thin equal edges, and a central hole for the front camera, in addition to a frame and background with a flat design.
The phone includes a 6.9-inch OLED LTPO screen with a resolution of 2608 x 1200 pixels, with a variable refresh rate ranging between one Hz and 120 Hz, and a maximum brightness of 3500 lumens.
The screen supports “Dolby Vision” and “HDR10+” technologies, in addition to “PWM” dimming technology with a frequency of 1920 Hz and DC Dimming technology, and is protected by a layer of “Xiaomi Shield Glass 3.0”.
Xiaomi relied on the Qualcomm “Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5” processor, with “LPDDR5X” memory of 12 and 16 GB, and the phone is also available with UFS 4.1 storage options of 256 and 512 GB.
The battery is the most prominent element of the device. It has a capacity of 8000 mAh and supports fast wired charging with a power of 100 watts, in addition to wired reverse charging with a power of 22.5 watts, while there is no support for wireless charging.
The phone runs on Android 16 with the “HyperOS 3” interface, and also includes an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor integrated under the screen, and an IR port to control home appliances, in addition to supporting the operation of two nano SIM cards.
The “Xiaomi 17 Max” includes three rear cameras, led by a 200-megapixel main camera based on the ISOCELL HP9 sensor with a Leica Summilux lens and the Hyper OIS feature for image stabilization. The phone also includes a 50-megapixel ultra-wide camera with a Leica lens and a wide field of view of more than 100 degrees, in addition to a magnifying periscopic camera with a resolution of 50 megapixels, and also supports close-up photography up to a distance of 15 cm with Support OIS optical stabilization.
The thickness of the phone is about 8 mm, with a weight of about 220 grams. It is available in three colors: white, blue and black.
Xiaomi launched the phone in the Chinese market at a starting price of 4,799 Chinese yuan, equivalent to about $700, and it is not yet known when it will be available in global markets. (aitnews)
