At a time when regional and international contacts related to the Lebanese situation and the ongoing negotiations with the Israeli side are intensifying, writer and political analyst Nidal Al-Sabaa revealed data related to the Saudi role at the current stage, indicating that Prince Yazid bin Farhan’s visit to Beirut comes within the framework of keeping pace with the Lebanese-Israeli negotiations and working to fortify the Lebanese internal arena.

Al-Saba wrote on the “X” platform that the Saudi move also aims to push for a meeting that brings together the three presidents, in an attempt to create an internal dialogue climate that leads to a political consensus that reduces the severity of the existing divisions in the country.

He pointed out that the consistent Saudi strategy towards Lebanon is based on three basic headings, starting with preserving the Taif Agreement, passing through strengthening internal stability, and ending with preventing any internal conflict or sliding into chaos.

Al-Sabaa considered that the Lebanese are “lucky” to have Prince Yazid bin Farhan follow up on the Lebanese file directly, describing him as a “pragmatic and open” personality capable of marketing ideas and innovating solutions in light of the current political complexities.

These data come in light of a delicate political stage that Lebanon is experiencing, with escalating pressures related to the ongoing negotiations in Washington, and security developments in the south, in addition to the internal division over the weapons files, the political settlement, and the relationship with the international community and Arab countries.

The ongoing Saudi movement also reflects Riyadh’s interest in keeping the Lebanese arena within the framework of political and security stability, especially in light of regional fears of any internal collapse that may affect the existing balances in the region.
