The Chelsea team reserved its place in the final match of the FA Cup, after defeating Leeds United with an unanswered goal in the semi-finals. The match took place on the field of Wembley Stadium in the capital, London, in the presence of a large crowd of more than 82,000 fans.
The team’s captain, Argentine star Enzo Fernandez, managed to score the only winning goal in the 23rd minute, with a wonderful header. With this goal, Fernandes’ scoring tally this season reached 13 goals in all tournaments. In the final match, scheduled to be held on May 16, Chelsea will face Manchester City, which in turn qualified on Saturday after beating Southampton 2-1.
This is Chelsea’s seventeenth qualification to the FA Cup final, and its first since 2022. It is worth noting that interim coach Callum MacFarlane, who replaced sacked coach Liam Rosenior, has succeeded in leading the “Blues” team to victory and qualification, in addition to the possibility of ensuring participation in the “Europa League” tournament next season if he wins the cup.
