Motorola officially announced the full details of its new Motorola Edge 70 Pro phone, and confirmed that its launch date will be on April 22. This step comes as part of the company’s endeavor to strengthen its position in the phone market that combines mid-range and premium specifications.
Advanced screen and unique design
The phone comes with a large 6.8-inch Extreme AMOLED screen, which displays images in Super HD resolution, and features a refresh rate of up to 144 Hz, in addition to a very strong brightness of up to 5200 nits, making it one of the brightest phones in its class.
The device features a design with curves on the sides, and comes in colors chosen in cooperation with “Pantone,” including Lily White, Tea, and Titan, in addition to the use of different materials such as glass and cloth, according to the “phonearena” website.
Better performance and modern processor
The phone relies on a powerful processor, the MediaTek Dimensity 8500 Extreme, in addition to a random access memory (RAM) of up to 12 GB, and runs Android 16. The company also promised to provide system updates for three years and security updates for five years.
Bigger battery and faster charging
The device contains a large 6500 mAh battery that supports 90W fast charging, giving it a longer operating time compared to previous versions.
Improved camera with noticeable changes
Regarding photography, the phone comes with a 50-megapixel main camera based on the Sony Lytia 710 sensor, with special improvements for photography in low-light conditions.
On the other hand, some leaks indicate the possibility of the absence of a telephoto lens, which may be considered a decline compared to the previous generation, as the phone relies on a wide lens and multi-function sensors instead.
High durability and advanced resistance
The phone supports IP68 and IP69 standards for water and dust resistance, in addition to Gorilla Glass 7i and MIL-STD-810H military durability standards. It also supports Dolby Atmos and Hi-Res audio technologies.
Price and availability
It is expected that the phone will be launched in India first, and then later move to European markets, at a price ranging between 649 and 699 euros, which is higher than the previous generation.
The phone is not expected to be launched directly in the US market, with the possibility of a modified version being released later in another series from the company.
Strong competition in the upper middle category
This release reflects Motorola’s strategy to strengthen its position in the phone market that combines medium and premium specifications, by offering a modern design and strong specifications, in light of increasing competition between companies to provide better value for the price.
